Why is alcohol bad for you - The Alcohol free lifestyle.

I have never been a drinker. I'm not too fond of alcohol and how it makes me feel.
Do I still have your attention, or are you scrolling away because I am too boring for you? lol

Here's my alcohol story (embarrassing but worth sharing)
In my early teenage years, I made some significant rules for my self. From when I would have my first kiss, first boyfriend, etc., I may not have stuck to all of it, but I did stick to some, and the rules helped me stay disciplined and out of trouble in my younger years.

Not drinking was one of those rules; I decided that I wanted never to lose control or consciousness of my environment. Plus, as a Christian, if it wasn't encouraged in the bible, I didn't wish to encourage it in my life.

So when I was offered a drink, my first thought was my set of rules, which pretty much defined me. So my simple answer would be I don't drink for many years.

That was until I made some older friends, in my early 20's and then I tried to act all grown too by accepting an amaretto sour drink - which I was told was mild and tasted like apple juice. It did smell and look like apple juice, so I took 3 big gulps and then realized my whole insides were burning! I didn't finish the glass. The next morning I was as sick as a dog! And basically, that was the first and last time I had a real alcoholic drink.

Now that I am a real grown woman, I would occasionally have a tiny bit of low alcohol wine (usually mixed with juice or water). However, I still got the burning sensations I hated, and I would laugh uncontrollably and then be sleepy. This all with just a tiny bit of wine in my system.
Because of these experiences, I always wondered why people like alcohol, what is so good or enjoyable about your chest burning, and feeling sleepy lol or is it just me?

In any case, my husband and I are both not drinkers, if we occasionally bought a bottle of wine because we had guests or if we were gifted with one by guests. It usually sits around for months or years even!

As a type this post, I don't remember the last time I had a drop of alcohol. i think it may have been in 2017 when we celebrated my husband's birthday at a Marriot in Florida. We stayed there for perhaps close to a month because my husband was working on a contract out there. So we were friendly with the managers and staff, and when they found out it was my husband's birthday, surprised us with a bottle of champagne, fruits, and chocolate.
